About BPRL

Bangalore Pharmaceutical & Research Laboratory (BPRL) has been making medicines in Bengaluru since 1957. Its portfolio spans more than 35 herbal products, nutraceuticals under its MiDori wellness brand, super-specialty oncology and supportive-care products, and contract manufacturing for other brands.

BPRL’s manufacturing facility covers about 1.5 lakh sq ft and is designed to WHO and cGMP guidelines, with unidirectional material flow, dedicated air-handling systems and double-RO purified water. The company is triple ISO-certified and makes tablets, capsules, granules and nutraceutical products.

The challenge

Deep cleaning a working pharmaceutical factory is very different from cleaning an office. A plant like BPRL’s handles powders, herbal raw materials and finished medicines, so dust, residues and cross-contamination have to be controlled at every step.

The cleaning had to be:

  • Thorough enough for GMP, reaching high-level areas, corners, drains and machinery surrounds where dust builds up
  • Safe for the product, using approved agents and methods that leave no residue or contamination
  • Planned around production, so the plant’s schedule and material flow weren’t disrupted
  • Disciplined, with trained staff who follow the facility’s hygiene, gowning and entry rules

What PinkClean did

PinkClean planned and carried out a top-to-bottom deep clean of BPRL’s factory, working area by area to keep production running.

  1. Site survey and plan. We walked the plant with BPRL’s team, mapped each area and agreed the sequence, timings and approved cleaning agents.
  2. High-level cleaning first. Ceilings, lights, overhead pipes, cable trays and ducts were dusted and wiped so nothing fell onto cleaned surfaces later.
  3. Walls, equipment exteriors and surfaces. Cleaned with methods suited to each surface, working from clean areas towards dirty ones.
  4. Floors and drains. Machine scrubbing and detailed corner and drain cleaning to remove built-up dust and residue.
  5. Support areas. Corridors, storage, change rooms and utility areas were cleaned to the same standard.
  6. Final inspection and handover. A joint walk-through with BPRL’s team to sign off each area.

Our crews followed BPRL’s site hygiene and entry rules throughout, using industrial-grade equipment and PinkClean’s ISO-certified methods.

The result

BPRL’s factory was handed back deep-cleaned, area by area, with each zone checked and signed off by the client’s team.

For pharma manufacturers, a deep clean like this does more than make a plant look good. It removes dust and residue build-up that can affect product quality, supports GMP and India’s Revised Schedule M expectations for clean premises, and leaves the site ready for audits and inspections.

Why pharma companies choose PinkClean: we are ISO-certified, a member of the Contamination Control Society of India (CCSI), and experienced in industrial sites. Our projects include ISRO SHAR, RenewSys, Prova Flavours and MANN+HUMMEL, and now BPRL.

Frequently asked questions

What is factory deep cleaning for pharma plants?

It is a top-to-bottom clean of a manufacturing site, from ceilings, overheads and walls to equipment exteriors, floors and drains, using approved agents and methods so the plant stays GMP-ready without contaminating products.

How often should a pharma factory be deep cleaned?

Daily and weekly cleaning follow the plant’s SOPs, while full deep cleans are usually scheduled periodically and during shutdowns, after maintenance or construction work, and before audits.
